Modern campus, modern learning โ home of the Panthers
About Altamont Elementary School
Altamont Elementary, home of the Panthers, opened in 2014 and represents the next generation of Mountain House schools. Built with a modern design and state-of-the-art facilities, the campus serves approximately 642 students in grades K-8 from the Altamont Village neighborhood.
The school's academic performance is outstanding: 68% math proficiency and 76% reading proficiency on CAASPP assessments โ both significantly above California state averages of 34% and 47% respectively. This 8/10 GreatSchools rating reflects Altamont's commitment to academic excellence. Project Lead The Way (PLTW) engineering and biomedical curriculum provides hands-on STEM learning, and the Gifted & Talented program stretches advanced students.
The school's dark purple and gold colors are worn proudly by students and families. Principal Jennifer Bogle leads a dedicated staff that values both academic rigor and the whole-child approach. The campus's proximity to Mountain House's best trail connections means students in Altamont Village enjoy some of the most walkable routes to school in the community.
